Kate has over ten years experience handling collections litigation and creditors’ rights law. Kate received her B.A. from Connecticut College and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Prior to practicing law she worked as a litigation paralegal and case manager for a large law firm in New York City. After graduating from law school she returned to Maine and sat for the bar exam. The Maine Board of Bar Examiners awarded her the February 2005 Kenneth R. Clegg Award for Excellence, given to the person with the highest combined score on the Maine Bar Examination in his or her first attempt. After being admitted to practice she joined Susan J. Szwed, P.A., a Maine debt collection law firm. Kate is admitted to practice in the courts of Maine and New Hampshire, the U.S. District Court of Maine.
